Katie Shannon is a speaker, writer and advisor whose career has been built at the intersection of high-net-worth relationships, creative leadership, and the kind of human complexity financial instruments cannot resolve.
She began working with families while developing her professional acumen at high-end hospitality brands, including the Four Seasons, where she negotiated contracts and planned private events.
That mastery led directly to the family office world. She oversaw operations and VIP hospitality across four privately owned residential properties and served as a trusted advisor to the family's standards and evolving vision.
She later co-founded 2622, a Georgetown event and community space, in a direct partnership with a D.C.-based real estate developer and family office, experiencing firsthand what it takes to build something alongside people whose personal and professional lives are intertwined at every level.
Katie was driven by people-pleasing and validation from the families she served. Unbeknownst to her, she had an unconscious engine driving her ambition. During Katie’s second year of college, her world turned upside down as her family experienced a major financial and identity-defining trauma. She had been running nonstop to feel in control and self-sufficient at all costs. Workaholism kept the wound quiet until the accolades and accomplishments began to feel empty.
At age 34, Katie stripped down her life, went deep into healing the wounds, and began living from a place of integrity and aliveness.
Being of service to the soul led her to write and speak about her own experience in hopes that it would make other driven, ambitious, humble hustlers feel less alone. She brought language and solutions to the suffering that typically plagues entrepreneurs, family-owned businesses, and artists as they shoot for the moon while being crippled by their internal dialogue.
Katie has guided a Co-Founder and CFO through a period of hypergrowth, from $77M in revenue to $239.1M and a $4.1B acquisition. She transformed the six founding partners of STURDY., the creative force behind Bad Bunny’s Puerto Rican residency design, into a cohesive executive team that doubled headcount, grew net income by 70%, and earned a spot on the Inc. 5000.
She has guided a NYT Bestselling author in launching her own publishing imprint, supported a serial founder in raising $20M for his biotech company, and worked alongside Grammy award-winning artist managers and families navigating generational transition.
Katie has led workshops at the Kellogg School of Management's Venture Capital Club, served on multiple non-profit boards, and holds a degree in Psychology from Auburn University. She is based in Los Angeles and works with clients across the U.S. and globally.
